A Quiet Return

ALGARVE, PORTUGAL

There was something very special about being off-grid in the mountains — and that is why we have decided to return. Step away from the noise of the day to day and join Ellisha in August at the beautiful Casa de Cura, nestled in the Portuguese mountains of the Algarve. Together we will move intentionally, eat communally and of course rest (to what degree, is completely up to you). Your home for these 4 nights/5 days is a haven of slow living, where the soft rhythm of mountain life blends with the sacred energy of ancient practice. Expect guided journalling, silent meditation, twice daily practices, town trips, cooking class, workshops and massages.

Whether you’re a devoted parent or caregiver ready to pour back into yourself, a business owner juggling it all, a freelance creative craving a reset, or simply someone longing to slow down and reconnect — this retreat is designed with you in mind, offering you a calm space to recharge, recalibrate and return to your truest self with renewed depth and clarity.

*please note this is a women’s only retreat

What guests loved about our last retreat was the intentional spaciousness of it. Retreat schedules can often be jammed packed with activities which can feel contradictory to their intentions. A Quiet Return offers the perfect balance between rest, inquiry and play.

Each day will unfold in a gentle, intentional rhythm — your days begin by waking up to the dappled light of the Algarve mountains, grabbing your morning drink of choice and heading the open shala for silent meditation and/or guided journaling. Once grounded, we move into our energising morning pranayama (breathwork) and asana (movement) practice.

Next, refuel with a nourishing big brunch provided by our very own private chef whose attention to detail goes unmatched. Free time allows you to slowly unwind at a pace which suits you — sit under the trees or one of the many reading nooks on the property, take a dip in the fresh water pool supplied by the healing mountains themselves or take some time to create using watercolours and let the mind be free.

We reconvene at lunch for snacks, and move into more free time to spend as you please — maybe you take a trip to the town of Lagos, or a short hike into the mountains or book a treatment with our visiting masseuse. By 5.30pm it’s time for our evening practice which is steeped in relaxation (think Yin & Yoga Nidra), before drifting back to the outdoor dining table for dinner, accompanied by long table chats which carry you into the night.

Everything on retreat however is entirely optional — an invitation rather than an expectation. Allowing you to move at your own pace and create a retreat experience that feels uniquely your own…

“I can’t even begin to put into words just how gorgeous this retreat experience was. Ellisha planned everything down to a T and you can tell how much love and energy she put into the preparation, it couldn’t have been more perfect. I felt my shoulders drop the second I walked in, with the most gorgeous views, whimsical rooms and space, the shala with sounds of nature and birds around us. I felt truly nourished throughout - mentally and physically. The days and itinerary were perfect with morning journalling and movement, a balance of free time to connect with the most gorgeous people, or take ourselves away for a bit to reflect and relax, read a good book. Don’t even get me started on the food!!! It was amazing, and we all felt so looked after by the chef. Ellisha’s style of teaching has also made me fall in love with yoga, I entered this retreat newer to Yoga and so I wasn’t sure what to expect over the course of a few days, but I felt myself slowing down, connecting with my breath and body, and also not being shy of trying new poses and playing around with my practice! I truly feel like this retreat healed something in me. You are amazing Ellisha!”
